Counter-Evangelism
Are you tired of evangelists knocking at your door? Are you fed up with relatives pressuring you to indoctrinate your children into a religion you don't want to raise them in? Have you found that mainstream Christianity isn't working for you, but some aspects of it bother you so much that you stay either "just in case" or because you don't feel able to clearly explain what it is that you don't feel right about? Religion is Bullshit These sites are more scathing websites, that, while cynical and sarcastic, still make excellent points. May be offensive to some.
*: There is dispute as to whether this quote is genuine or not. Pope Leo X was born in the 1400s and died in the 1500s - and it's well known that the Church has often gone to extreme lengths to ensure compliance and for a long time, killed apostates and infidels (and plenty of their own, too, as the result of false and absurd accusations). On the other hand, it could be true that the quote was a bogus one attributed to John Bale (an apostate) - but the only sources I've found that make this claim, are Christian sources. |
